Fees: the same 20% on both

OnlyFans' Terms of Service calculate its fee as 20% of the total fan payment, deducted from each payment before the rest becomes the creator's earnings. That covers subscriptions, pay-per-view and any other payment to a creator, including messages.

Fanvue's help center gives its standard split as 80% to the creator and 20% commission to Fanvue. An earlier 85% rate for creators who joined in 2022 has ended, so claims that Fanvue takes a smaller cut are out of date. Trying a page before paying

This is the clearest difference for fans. Fanvue gives creators a free trial link tool where they set the trial length, the number of uses and the expiry date. In our data, 190 of the 425 Fanvue pages we track were running a trial at our last check, from 1 to 30 days.

OnlyFans' terms do not describe a trial feature. They do let a creator set a monthly price, if any, which is why many OnlyFans pages are free to follow and earn from pay-per-view instead. A free page and a trial are not the same thing: the free page stays free but locks most content behind individual purchases, while a trial opens the subscriber feed for a few days and then starts charging.

Billing, canceling and refunds

Both platforms renew subscriptions automatically. Fanvue bills in 30-day cycles, sends an email 24 hours before a trial converts, and keeps your access to the end of the period after you cancel. It advises canceling at least an hour or two before renewal, because a payment already processing will still go through.

OnlyFans' terms say a subscription renews for the same duration unless you cancel or switch off auto-renew, that a price increase stops automatic renewal, and that after canceling you can view the creator's content until the end of the period you paid for.

Neither platform is generous with refunds. Fanvue states that all payments are non-refundable and reviews only double charges, technical errors, misdescribed content and unfulfilled paid custom requests raised within 30 days; a chargeback filed without contacting support first leads to a permanent ban. OnlyFans' terms ask fans not to make unjustified refund or chargeback requests, allow it to suspend or delete accounts that make them in bad faith, and make prepaid Wallet Credits non-refundable.

AI creators

Both platforms allow AI-generated content with a label, but they label it differently. On Fanvue, every AI creator carries an AI tag in the profile bio, AI accounts pass the same verification as human creators, and the policy forbids AI media of a real person other than the account owner. Fanvue will not refund on the grounds that a creator is AI if the label was visible when you subscribed.

OnlyFans' terms require AI-generated content to be clearly captioned as such with a tag like #ai or #AIGenerated. The label sits on the post rather than the profile, so read captions as well as the bio. Our guide to AI OnlyFans explains what those creators are.

Safety and ID checks

Both check creators. Fanvue requires an ID document and a selfie before a creator can earn. OnlyFans' terms require creators to upload a valid form of ID and two photos, and to provide more age or identity information whenever asked. OnlyFans' terms add that anyone else appearing in a creator's content must be a tagged creator or an adult whose proof of identity and written consent the creator holds.

Both require fans to be 18 or over. Fanvue adds a selfie-based age check through a provider called Ondato in regions where the law requires one, sometimes with a government ID. For more on each platform, see is Fanvue legit and is OnlyFans safe.

Paying and privacy

Fanvue accepts Visa and Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PIX in Brazil and crypto through its wallet, but not PayPal or Discover. Its charges show on statements as fanvue.com only, and fans get a random username by default.

OnlyFans' terms describe payment by card and prepaid Wallet Credits, processed by a third-party provider, with all fan payments in US dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank's conversion fee applies.

Audience and catalog

OnlyFans is far bigger in public interest. In the US, Google searches for onlyfans run around 11.1 million a month against about 201,000 for fanvue (DataForSEO, October 2026).

Fanvue positions itself as a home for every kind of creator, human or AI, and names AI personas among the creators it hosts. Which one should you use?

If you are following one specific creator, use whichever platform they post on; the official page is the only place their real content lives. If you are browsing, Fanvue is the easier place to start because trials let you test pages for free, AI pages are labeled up front, and 64% of the Fanvue pages we track cost under $10 a month. If you want the platform with the biggest public profile, OnlyFans leads by a wide margin.
