OnlyFans is an established subscription platform run by Fenix International Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, and it is generally safe to use when you stay on official pages and pay inside the platform. The real risks are fake profiles, leak sites and scam links that impersonate creators. Here is what OnlyFans' own terms say about payments, renewals, refunds and ID checks, and how to avoid the traps.
Payments, renewals and refunds
OnlyFans' terms say fan payments are received and processed by a third-party payment provider it approves, in US dollars. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel or switch off Auto-Renew, and after canceling you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds are limited. The terms ask fans not to make unjustified refund or chargeback requests and allow OnlyFans to suspend or delete accounts that make them in bad faith. Prepaid Wallet Credits are non-refundable.
Who is checked
Fans must be at least 18. Creators must upload a valid ID and two photos and provide more age or identity information whenever OnlyFans asks. Anyone else appearing in a creator's content must be a tagged creator or an adult whose ID and written consent the creator holds.
The terms also require AI-generated content to be captioned with a tag such as #ai or #AIGenerated, so a labeled post tells you what you are looking at.
Real pages vs fake ones
Most safety problems come from impersonation. Scammers copy a creator's photos onto lookalike accounts, messaging channels or random sites, then ask for payment outside the platform.

Leak sites and scam offers
Leaked content is stolen or fabricated, and the sites hosting it are common bait for malware, phishing and card-collecting pop-ups. There is no legitimate free copy of paid content.
Be wary of anyone selling free OnlyFans galleries, unlocked accounts or discount codes outside the platform. OnlyFans' terms describe neither third-party discount codes nor free trials; free pages, by contrast, are a normal setting a creator can choose.
